Eric White is a certified industrial hygienist (CIH) through the American Board of Industrial Hygiene and a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals with over twelve years’ of occupational environmental, health & safety (EHS) experience. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University and a Master of Public Health degree with a focus on industrial hygiene from The University of Michigan.

Eric sits on the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) board of directors and the University of Michigan – Center for Occupational Health & Safety Engineering (COHSE) Academic External Advisory Board (EAB).
Eric started his career at Abbott in 2009 within the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) organization in North Chicago, IL with a focus on potent active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) compound handling and containment. Over the years, Eric has held various leadership positions supporting EHS compliance, industrial hygiene, and ergonomic programs both internal and external to AbbVie, including roles at Samsung Austin Semiconductor and Gallagher Bassett Services Inc. Eric returned to AbbVie in 2016 as the site EHS lead for the AP16 Pharmaceutical Operations site with a focus on driving the site’s safety and compliance culture. In this time, he oversaw site certification to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 requirements. In 2019 Eric assumed the role of an operations production section manager at the AP16 Pharmaceutical Operations site which was a development opportunity that allowed him to strengthen his leadership capabilities in a non EHS position overseeing an extended staff of eighty-five individuals.

In his current role, he sits within the global EHS organization at AbbVie managing the global occupational hygiene and ergonomic programs for the internal manufacturing and engineering (IME) organizations and is responsible for risk reduction and protecting worker health as it relates to compound handling/containment, manufacturing ergonomics, and technical transfer to achieve compliance for twenty-seven manufacturing sites.
