Martyn Chilton
Principal Scientist / Scientific Consultant

Dr. Martyn Chilton is a Principal Scientist at Lhasa Limited and a Scientific Consultant at Consult Lhasa. At Lhasa Limited he leads the research efforts applying in silico models to help assess the toxicity of E&Ls, with a focus on both local and systemic toxicity endpoints. He has been fortunate to be involved in various projects and collaborations in this field, including as an invited collaborator with the Extractables and Leachables and Safety Information Exchange. At Consult Lhasa he co-leads the E&L safety assessment service and is involved in assessing other impurity types for clients, such as nitrosamines and non-mutagenic impurities.
DAY 2: March 6th, 2026
SESSION: Using an in silico framework to conduct efficient and reliable E&L safety assessments under ICH Q3E
◆ Provide an overview of the key challenges when assessing the safety of E&Ls and the workflows available to guide assessors.
◆ Introduce an in silico framework which addresses mutagenicity, local toxicity and systemic toxicity to produce a scientifically robust safety assessment.
◆ Present a case study which uses this framework to demonstrate the safety of a leachable, and show the value added by using databases, (Q)SARs and read across.
